Swim School Teacher

SEND Swim Teacher.

Fiona has worked at the centre for 7 years, and focuses solely on SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) classes. She said: “I love giving the children the same access to swimming as their peers – it’s incredibly rewarding. It’s also great to see parents enjoy the experience, watching their children thrive. Bridport Leisure Centre has such a supportive, friendly team; even though I’m only in a couple of times a week, I always feel part of it.”

Fiona also works at Mountjoy School as a senior teaching assistant and swim teacher, she adds: “This complements my role, as I get to see the children’s continuous improvement both in their swimming and in their independence, and the development of their social skills.”
